The Division is pleased to be able to offer an opportunity for Royal College Specialty Program graduates to undertake a period of Enhanced Skills training in Palliative Care. This program is flexible in duration (most frequently 3 months), open to Royal College physicians from any primary specialty who have completed their specialty/subspecialty training. Interested candidates must secure financial support through external sources such as hospital foundation, health authority or other similar establishments (cannot be self-funded).
Though supported administratively by the UBC Postgraduate Office, this is an unaccredited program and will not lead to any form of certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. It is designed for BC specialists to enhance their skills in delivery of a palliative approach to care within their primary specialty, and/or improve access to palliative care in underserved areas in BC.
