What’s the best part about your job?
Gently holding the liminal space for our patients/families for a better chance of peace, reconciliation and love.

Favourite song:
Well technically it is not a “song” but the 5th movement of the Bach Cello Suite (Unaccompanied) No. 3 in C Major BWV 1009. would be my favourite. It purports a subtle sense of hopefulness in the midst of a very technical piece
Favourite past-time activity:
I train/run marathons + watch tons of marathon related videos. I love the pain!

Favourite restaurant in your community:
I will offer two! LIVIA Foreno e Vino on Commercial is not in my hood but their weekend brunch is out of this world! (Checkout their wine list too) As for my go to near home I would say Little Billy’s on Hastings in Burnaby. It is a quiet place with great service and fresh food.
A book or article you would recommend: Can I say anything from Dostoyensky especially The Brothers Karamazov? You really can’t go wrong with him! A more recently one I highly recommend would be Stephanie Foo’s What My Bones Know: A Memoir of Healing From Complex Trauma. It is an offering not unlike Besssel Van Der Kolk’s The Body’s Keeps the Score but with a smoother flow.
What are you creating in the world right now? Not sure if I call this creating but a lot of my focuses lately has to do with modeling what is prudent and compassionate for my teenagers – that’s an unpaid full time job on its own!
Best piece of advice for new physicians: Never forget your whys when the practice gets hard. They will sustain and nourish you personally and professionally.
