By Kelsey Jay on June 12, 2023

Dr. Alexander Kmet and his wife on a boat ride.

Dr. Alexander Kmet in his hometown.

1. Site:
Whitehorse, Yukon

2. What’s the best part about your job? Witnessing the beauty of human connection when the medical barriers are removed from the highway of life

3. Favourite song: Nutshell by Alice in Chains

4. Favourite past-time activity: Walking my dog in the woods with nobody else around.

5. Favourite restaurant in your community: Yukon Bunsik – a tiny little Korean place above the drug store on Main Street.

6. Favourite travel destination: Wherever nature shows no marks.

7. A book or article you would recommend: The entire catalogue of Calvin and Hobbes.

8. What are you creating in the world right now? A camping trip for this weekend.

9. Best piece of advice for new physicians: You’ll always and continuously be asked to take on more.  Feel free to say no at the start, but continue to add deliberately over time to fulfill your own sense of service to others.  And then feel free to say no again
