Resident Spotlight: Dr. Kelvin Lou

We’re excited to introduce you to Dr. Kelvin Lou, our first Royal College Resident feature, who will actually be graduating this week! Keep reading to learn more about this inspiring gentleman.

Favourite part about your residency experience so far:

  • I have really enjoyed the diverse learning opportunities throughout my residency training. I particularly enjoyed meeting and talking with like-minded people who are passionate about their work

Favourite song:

  • AC/DC – It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘N’ Roll). Excellent wake up song for early mornings.

Favourite past-time activity:

  • Reading and cooking

Favourite restaurant in your community:

  • BeiJiang Restaurant (北疆飯店)

A book or article you would recommend:

  • The Wild Edge of Sorrow by Francis Weller. Great overview of grief work.

Who is someone who inspires you?

  • My sister, who is also a palliative care doctor, and an ongoing source of inspiration.

What are you creating in the world right now?

  • A pork shoulder in the smoker at the moment.

What are you most looking forward to in your career ahead?

  • Continuing to learn and grow within a passionate and supportive community .
