“Legal and Ethical Issues in End-of-Life Studies”

SFU’s Continuing Studies Department is offering their second course in End of Life Studies – Legal and Ethical Issues in End of Life Studies – over three Saturdays: March 3 – 17, 2018 (21 hours). This course is presented by Margaret Hall of the Thompson Rivers University Law Faculty and will explore a range of legal and ethical issues related to death, dying, and the end of life. This course will explore laws pertaining to the dead, i.e., who makes decisions about the dead and on what basis, by examining several important Canadian judicial decisions including Carter v. Canada, R. v. Rodriguez, Cuthbertson v. Rasouli, Bentley v. Maplewood Seniors Care Society and A.C. v. Manitoba (Director of Child and Family Services).
